NYSD Accreditation
At the New York School of Design (NYSD), quality is not a promise—it is independently verified. Our institution is accredited, licensed, and reviewed by respected national organizations to ensure that every program meets rigorous academic and professional standards. From curriculum design to student outcomes, these partnerships confirm that your education is credible, transferable, and aligned with the expectations of colleges, universities, and employers worldwide.
Our Commitment to Quality
At NYSD, we believe in transparency and academic integrity. We are accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS), a global leader in school improvement and accreditation.
This partnership with MSA-CESS ensures that we are constantly evolving to meet the needs of a 21st-century workforce. It provides our community with the assurance that NYSD’s programs are grounded in research-based best practices and a dedicated mission to foster student success on a global scale.
NYSD is committed to providing education that counts. All NYSD courses have been evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE) for College Credit Recommendation. This means that students who successfully complete our evaluated programs may be eligible to transfer these credits to over 2,000 participating colleges and universities. By choosing NYSD, you are not just gaining skills, you are building a bridge to your future degree, saving both time and tuition costs.

How to Transfer Your NYSD Credits to College
Because NYSD courses are evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE®), you can turn your hard work into real college progress. Follow these steps to request credit at your target university.
- Accept the invitation and create your account to “claim” your digital badge. This badge contains the metadata that proves your ACE recommendation.
- Log in to Credly, go to your dashboard, and select “Send Transcript.” You can search for your college or university within their system.
- Reach out to your college’s Registrar’s Office or your Academic Advisor. Tell them: “I have completed a program evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE) and would like to have my official ACE transcript reviewed for transfer credit.”
- Tip: If your advisor is unfamiliar with ACE, you can provide them with the link to the ACE National Guide where NYSD’s specific course evaluations are listed.
Note: The award of academic credit is at the sole discretion of the receiving college or university.
NYSD is a licensed private career school under the Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS), part of the New York State Education Department. BPSS oversight ensures that NYSD operates with fiscal responsibility and maintains the highest instructional standards. Our licensing signifies our commitment to providing students with a safe, professional, and state-validated learning environment.
